The Advanced Open Water Diver is the SSI certification that transforms a certified diver into a complete diver. With it you dive down to 30 metres, master real technical skills and gain the confidence that only comes from guided practice in open water.
This is not a theory course. There are 3 open water dives, each focused on a different specialty: underwater navigation, deep diving and two specialties of your choice. Each dive has a specific goal, and by the end of it you already know how to apply it.
At Pro Dive we run this course under the SSI programme with groups of maximum 4 divers per instructor. That means your instructor watches you, corrects you and gets the best out of you on every dive, without wasting time waiting for a group of eight people.
The Advanced Open Water Diver course is not a generic course. Each dive has a specific technical goal. You train underwater navigation, buoyancy control, deep diving and two more specialties of your choice. Five dives, three real skills that stay with you forever.
And whenever you want to expand any of them into a full specialty, the training from this course already counts as credit. You don’t start from scratch.
For example the following:
You learn to navigate underwater using a compass and natural references. By the end of this dive you can plan a route, follow it and return to the starting point without relying on anyone.
You descend to 30 metres on the volcanic seabeds of Lanzarote. You train air management at greater depth, the effects of pressure and decision-making when the margin is smaller.
The skill that separates a mediocre diver from a good one. You work on precise position control in the water, reduce your air consumption and learn to move without touching the bottom or the coral.
Same water, another world. You train torch use, communication with your buddy and orientation in low-visibility conditions. One of the most striking experiences in recreational diving.
You learn to identify the most common species on the seabeds of Lanzarote: moray eels, rays, octopus, angel sharks and much more. A specialty that changes forever the way you see a dive.
The equipment is included.
You just need to show up.
No extra rental fees or surprises in the final price.

The 5 dives take place at selected sites around Lanzarote, with volcanic seabeds, good visibility and marine life typical of the Canarian Atlantic. The instructor chooses the site based on the day's conditions and the group's level to ensure the best possible experience for each specialty.
